You are on a roll. You’ve written, optimized, and officially published three separate articles to your brand-new blog. You go to check your live site, expecting to see your beautiful, growing list of content, and…
Only two show up.
Your dashboard says you have three live posts, but your actual website looks like a locked vault that only lets two items past the gate.
If your blog feed is cutting off your hard work and hiding your latest articles, don’t panic. You haven’t lost anything. You’ve just run into a sneaky template layout restriction. Here is how to fix it and unlock your full running list in under two minutes.
The Mystery of the Missing Third Post
In my main WordPress dashboard, the math was perfectly clear: I had three published posts ready to be read.

But when I clicked over to my live “Behind the Scenes” category feed, the page stubbornly stopped scrolling after the first two articles. The third post was completely missing in action.

Even if your global WordPress dashboard settings tell your blog pages to show 10 posts, your specific theme template has its own hidden “Query Loop” block counter that can override everything and lock down your layout.
How to Unlock Your Running List
To fix this, you have to bypass your regular post screen and jump straight into your site’s template structure.
Step 1: Open Your Archive Template
Go to your main black sidebar dashboard menu and click on Appearance > Editor, then select Templates. Click on the template layout named All Archives or Category.
Once inside, you’ll see large placeholder layout boxes where your posts are being restricted to a tight cutoff.

Step 2: Adjust Your Query Settings
Open up your List View outline panel (the three staggered horizontal lines icon in the top-left corner) and click directly on the container labeled Query Loop.
Look over at your right-hand settings sidebar panel. We need to tweak two things here:
- Items Per Page: Scroll down to the Display section and type 10 into the box (or use the slider) so your page has plenty of room to grow.
- Sticky Posts: Under the query rules, change the Sticky Posts dropdown box to Ignore. This prevents old featured posts from confusing your latest feed order.

Step 3: Enjoy Your New Running Feed
Hit that blue Save button in the top-right corner, head back over to your live website, and refresh your browser.
Just like that, the template gates will fly open, and all of your published articles will drop into a perfect, seamlessly scrolling running list!
